How to wrap a newborn baby’s quilt

There are many ways to wrap a newborn baby, the following is a brief description of the commonly used swaddling method of wrapping.
Choose a soft blanket of moderate thickness, lay it flat on the bed, with the opposite corner of the blanket facing upwards, fold a small section of the opposite corner inwards, gently pick up the newborn, place the newborn on the top of the opposite corner, with the upper edge of the blanket and the newborn’s earlobes aligned.
Hold the newborn’s upper limb on one side with your hand and fold the wrap to the other side at an angle, with the lower corner folded upward, leaving a fist’s worth of movement below the foot.
Secure the other upper limb with your hand, and wrap the newborn in the other side of the wrap, also at an angle. Flatten the extra wrap under the newborn’s body.
A wide string can be tied around the outside of the wrap to prevent it from falling apart. This method of wrapping will give the newborn a better sense of security, but should not be too tight.
