Fever does not necessarily require bone marrow aspiration testing. Fever is just a symptom, a manifestation of a disease, and there are many diseases that cause fever, some of which may require testing by bone marrow aspiration, while others do not require bone marrow aspiration testing, and should be treated as prescribed by a physician. Hematologic disorders such as leukemia, multiple myeloma, and thrombocytopenic purpura can cause a patient to have a fever that requires a bone marrow aspiration to be tested for, and this is not related to the degree to which the fever is present, but rather to the fact that the patient has a set of symptoms that point to these blood-based disorders. When these blood-based diseases occur, they can lead to fever due to the high metabolism of the tumor, or they can lead to fever due to the fact that these blood-based diseases make the body immunocompromised, which in turn leads to infections. In addition, common upper respiratory tract infections, rheumatism, etc. can cause fever, and fever caused by these diseases does not need to be detected by bone marrow aspiration.
