Should I have surgery if I have diabetes or not?

I’m sure no one is a stranger to diabetes, but diabetes surgery is something that many people may not know about. If you have diabetes, do you choose to live and eat until you die medication, or do you choose long-term effective weight loss surgery? Diabetes surgery, or weight loss surgery, is therefore only suitable for people with obese diabetes. There are two common types of weight loss surgery, one is sleeve gastrectomy and the other is gastric bypass surgery. Most of the treatments for diabetes are the latter, so gastric bypass surgery is also known as the “gold standard” procedure for weight loss and diabetes. The principle of gastric bypass surgery is to reconstruct the digestive tract by building a small gastric bursa on the stomach to limit the amount of food input and alter the digestive path of food in the intestine, thus controlling food intake and absorption. This procedure changes the amount of food eaten by the patient and reduces the sugar intake of the diabetic patient. As less food is eaten, the patient’s weight will gradually decrease and the fat cells in the body will also slowly decrease, which will restore the function of insulin to normal and can better break down the sugar in the body, helping to treat diabetes. The reconstructed gastrointestinal tract changes the secretion of intestinal-islet axis hormone, further strengthening the body’s sugar metabolism function. After reading this, it is self-explanatory which is better than the traditional treatment of diabetes by taking medication for life.
