What does inflammatory hyperplastic polyp mean

Inflammatory hyperplasia polyp refers to the chronic inflammation of mucosal tissues, resulting in overgrowth of mucosal tissues and hyperplasia of granulation tissues, protruding to the mucosal surface to form a swelling with a tip. It has no clinical significance in itself, and its nature and clinical significance can only be determined by histologic examination. This article deals mainly with colonic polyps.
Inflammatory polyps are formed in two main ways, one is caused by tissue proliferation on the surface of the inflamed mucosa protruding upward, and the other is a bulge formed by overgrowth of granulation tissue in the center of the inflammation, which is then covered by mucosal tissue. However, the diagnosis of inflammatory polyps relies heavily on pathologic diagnosis.
Inflammatory polyps are diffuse inflammation, local tissue thickening, enlargement, so the formation of hyperplasia is rarely able to form tumors, the chances of malignant transformation is relatively low.
