People with AIDS may have red spots on their elbows, but red spots on the elbows are not a symptom specific to AIDS.
AIDS is acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, a serious infectious disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system, destroying lymphocytes and causing the body’s immune system to collapse, making the body less resistant to various diseases. In the acute stage of AIDS, patients may have a rash, which manifests itself as red or dark red papules or macules, which can appear all over the body, and may also be found on the elbows; and when it develops into the stage of AIDS, the patient may be comorbid with a skin disease, which can also manifest itself as a red rash on the elbows.
The red elbows may also be caused by other factors such as mosquito bites, allergies, fungal infections and other skin diseases, not necessarily caused by AIDS.
Due to low immunity, AIDS patients are more likely to be combined with various diseases. If AIDS patients have red spots on elbows, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals for examination and treatment in time so as not to delay the condition.
