Early signs of stroke and how to manage it at home

  Recently, the temperature has plummeted, and the number of stroke patients in hospitals has increased significantly, many patients do not identify early and timely diagnosis and delay the disease or even endanger their lives.
  Stroke causative factors.
  1, high-risk groups: hypertensive patients, patients with atherosclerosis, diabetic patients. Zeng Xiaoyun, Department of Neurology, Wuhan Puai Hospital
  2, smoking: smoking can cause cerebral vascular sclerosis, loss of elasticity, prone to cerebral hemorrhage.
  3, alcohol consumption: long-term heavy drinking, caused by atherosclerosis can develop to cerebral arteriosclerosis after
  4, psychological factors: anger, joy, thought, grief, fear of excess, especially rage, is the most common trigger.
  5, strain: overuse of brain and overexertion can easily lead to stroke.
  6, climate: high temperatures or sudden changes in weather are prone to stroke.
  7, poor diet: excessive gluttony, overeating, intake of high fat, high cholesterol, high salt diet.
  Five early manifestations.
  1, sudden numbness and weakness of the face or (and ) limbs, especially of one side of the limb
  2.Insightlessness in one or both eyes;
  3.Sudden severe headache with no cause;
  4.Sudden unconsciousness, unable to speak or understand other people’s words;
  5. Sudden difficulty walking, dizziness, and inability to balance
  Stroke attacks are sudden, especially when brain hemorrhage occurs more quickly. Patients are often working, eating, walking, doing housework, playing cards, etc., and suddenly fall to the ground, paraplegia, slurred speech, slanting mouth and even coma.
  At this time, what should the family do?
  First, after discovering that the patient has had a stroke, do not panic and be nervous. First, the patient should lie flat on the bed, and call the 120 emergency number as soon as possible;
  Second, the stroke can be divided into hemorrhagic stroke and ischemic stroke, when the diagnosis is not clear, remember not to use drugs. Because different types of strokes use different drugs.
  Third, master the correct way to carry the patient.
  First, do not rush to pick up the patient from the floor. It is better for two to three people to hold the patient flat on the bed at the same time, with the head slightly elevated to avoid vibration.
  Secondly, loosen the collar of the patient and remove the dentures if there are any.
  In addition, if the patient vomits, the head should be tilted to the side to avoid blocking the trachea with vomit; if the patient has a convulsion, use chopsticks between the upper and lower teeth to prevent biting the tongue
  Fourth, the patient should be moved as little as possible before being sent to the hospital. Transfer the patient on a stretcher. If the patient is carried up the stairs, the patient’s head should be in a high position and the feet in a low position, which can reduce cerebral congestion. Family members need to hold the patient’s head with both hands on the way to the hospital to avoid head shaking.
