If the patient undergoes a test with a blood HCG test greater than 10,000 mIU/mL, a determination needs to be made based on the patient’s specific condition. If the patient is clearly pregnant, a pelvic ultrasound is also needed to observe the growth and development of a gestational sac in the uterine cavity. If the gestational sac is well developed, this is a normal physiological phenomenon, caused by a significant increase in hormonal secretion in the body during pregnancy. However, if the pregnancy is confirmed by urine pregnancy test and is accompanied by cessation of menstruation, but no gestational sac is found in the uterine cavity, this situation does not exclude ectopic pregnancy or hyperemesis gravidarum, and the patient needs to undergo further relevant tests to clarify the cause.
