How does hyaluronic acid fill the front cheek triangle (apple) and lips?

The upper border of the anterior cheek triangle is below the infraorbital rim, the medial border is the naso-facial junction, and the lateral border is the line of migration between the anterior and lateral portions of the face. Aging of the cheeks is mainly characterized by flatness of the anterior cheek triangle due to tissue atrophy and loss of volume, and the zygomatic bone contour is visible, giving an old, serious or slightly sad appearance. The purpose of filling the anterior cheek triangle is to reshape the natural, smooth contour, make the zygomatic triangle bulge visually inconspicuous, and achieve the purpose of facial rejuvenation. Since the national aesthetic view is that a full front cheek triangle is beautiful, injectable fillers are needed for patients with atrophied and sunken front cheek triangles in order to increase the three-dimensionality of the face and to improve the appearance of seriousness and sadness. Lip Fillers Lip shrinkage and inward curling of the red lips due to tissue volume loss in aging patients results in shortening of the length of the red lips in the bottom view, and in severe cases, the lips become significantly thinner in the frontal view. In addition, lip protuberance, midface ridge, and lip arch flatten over time. All of these factors should be evaluated and corrected when performing lower face and lip rejuvenation treatments. Characteristics of a youthful face include smooth skin, no wrinkles, no pigmentation loss, no significant facial sagging, and full, well-defined lips. Facial aging occurs when dermal volume decreases, bone volume decreases, fat pad volume decreases or changes in position, and dental changes result in changes to the lips and their perioral region. The distance from the nose to the upper lip is elongated due to atrophy of bone and dermal tissue in the nasolabial folds and cuspal fossa, while the distance from the lower lip to the chin is shortened due to atrophy of the mandible and teeth. As a result, the chin is shifted forward, the red lip is curled inward, and the beads of the lips disappear, thus making the “dry lip” appearance more obvious. A natural, youthful lip should have undulating curves and nodular projections. A typical upper lip has three nodules: one in the center and one on each side, and one on each side of the lower lip. A normal lip should be slightly thicker on the lower lip than on the upper lip. In addition, for a youthful face, attractive lips should have clear borders. The red lip border, or “white line”, is located at the junction of the red lip mucosa and the facial skin. If only the red lip is injected, it will actually turn the lip inward and reduce the red lip’s visibility. This requires us to focus on plumping up the lips and surrounding anatomical units rather than just filling in the red lip.
