Is alveolar lung adenocarcinoma a ground-glass nodule?

Alveolar lung adenocarcinoma can present with ground-glass nodular changes or lobulated, burr-like solid nodules, while lung ground-glass nodular changes can be seen not only in alveolar lung adenocarcinoma, but also in other diseases such as pneumonia. Ground glass nodules are the imaging manifestations of chest CT, which can be seen in lung infection, lung fibrosis, lung adenocarcinoma and other diseases. Early stage of lung adenocarcinoma may show ground-glass nodule-like manifestation on chest CT, and as the disease develops and the tumor grows bigger, lung adenocarcinoma may be shown as solid nodules with lobes and burrs on chest CT. The appearance of ground-glass nodules on chest CT can also be seen in lung infection, interstitial fibrosis and other diseases. Ground-glass nodules caused by lung infection can be relieved and disappear through treatment, while ground-glass nodules caused by pulmonary fibrosis are often multiple, which can be differentiated from ground-glass nodules caused by lung adenocarcinoma. If the examination finds that the lungs have ground-glass nodule-like changes, some only need to observe without treatment, while others need to follow the doctor’s instructions for diagnosis and treatment.
