Side effects and dangers of Euphorbia

Morinda citrifolia, in Chinese medicine, refers to either Jing or Red Morinda citrifolia. The side effects and hazards of these two medicines are not yet clear. However, it should be noted that patients who are allergic to the drug should use it with caution, and the above two drugs are prohibited for pregnant women and the weak. It should not be used with licorice. Jing Dajia, is the dried root of the plant Euphorbiaceae, family Euphorbiaceae. It is bitter in taste, cold in nature and toxic. It has the efficacy of diarrhea and drinking (discharging water-dampness in the body through diarrhea), subduing swelling and dispersing nodules, treating edema, bulging and swelling of positive qi not yet weakened, and heat poison carbuncle sores, phlegm and fire coagulation of small nodules. Red Morinda citrifolia, is the dried tuberous root of red morinda citrifolia, family Rubiaceae. This product is bitter and cold in nature, with small poison. It has the efficacy of diarrhea and expel water, subduing swelling and dispersing nodules. It is used for edema and distension, chest and abdominal fluid retention, accumulation of phlegm and drink (pathological products formed by impaired metabolism of water and liquid), rebellious coughing and wheezing, unfavorable bowel movement, carbuncle, swelling and sores. The drug should be used under the standardized guidance of a professional physician’s dialectic, and should not be taken on its own to avoid risks.
