Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment for spinal cord injuries is used as an adjunctive therapy to relieve symptoms and improve the overall condition, but it is not the treatment of choice. Spinal cord injury manifests itself during its spinal shock as flaccid paralysis below the plane of injury, with loss of motor, reflex and sphincter functions, with planes of sensory loss and inability to control urination and defecation. Therefore, based on the clinical symptoms of spinal cord injury, TCM categorizes this disease as impotence syndrome. Impotence is a disease of limb tendon relaxation, weakness, inability to move freely or accompanied by muscle atrophy. Its lesions are located in the tendons and veins. Chinese medicine is divided into five types of evidence. 1. Lung heat and fluid injury (heat in the lungs, continuing to deplete the body’s fluid) certificate, to clear heat and moisten dryness, yin and fluid as the rule of treatment, can be used to clear the dryness and save the lung soup. 2. Dampness-heat immersion syndrome, to clear heat and relieve dampness (to remove heat and dampness in the body), and to facilitate the meridians as the treatment principle. Ermiao Pill can be used, but pregnant and lactating women should be cautious. 3. Weakness of the spleen and stomach, treating by tonifying the middle Jiao Qi (treating deficiency of Qi by tonifying the spleen) and strengthening the spleen to promote clearing. Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San can be used. 4. For deficiency of liver and kidney, tonifying the liver and kidney, nourishing yin and clearing heat (nourishing yin essence and clearing heat) are the treatment principles. Tiger Dive Pills can be used, but not suitable for people with weak spleen and stomach. 5.
