Cefixime kills Helicobacter pylori. After H. pylori infection, active inflammation of the gastric mucosa occurs in most cases, and about 70% of the people do not feel obvious symptoms. However, gastric cancer can be prevented by timely eradication of H. pylori, especially at the early stage of infection (superficial gastritis stage). According to the latest evidence-based evidence, the current H. pylori eradication program recommends quadruple therapy, i.e., 4 drugs, 1 acid suppressant + 1 bismuth + 2 antibiotics, e.g., omeprazole + bismuth potassium citrate + metronidazole + amoxicillin capsule. The combination is used for a 10-14 day course of treatment and cefixime is not routinely recommended. Positive H. pylori should be promptly hospitalized, regular and standardized treatment, and rechecked after stopping the drug.
