Talk about the things about dermatitis

Since the beginning of summer, the weather is getting hotter and hotter, and dermatology clinics are getting busier and busier, with summer dermatitis due to summer humidity and heat accounting for 30% of the cases! Experts remind us that the summer months are a good time for dermatitis, which often affects patients’ work and sleep because of itching. The following are some of the most common summer skin diseases that occur. Summer dermatitis: A high percentage of summer outpatients. The lesions start as erythema, followed by dense patches of pinhead to corn-sized papules and papules with itching and a mild burning sensation. It is often symmetrical and involves the extensor side of the limbs and trunk, especially the bilateral anterior shin. The culprit is sweat! Sweat contains a lot of metabolic wastes of human tissue, such as urea, uric acid, lactic acid, etc. These metabolic wastes are acidic and have a strong irritating effect on the skin. The metabolic waste content in sweat is highest when the human body sweats moderately, and it is most likely to cause at this time. Experts reminded that the prevention of summer dermatitis, pay attention to ventilation, clothing to absorb sweat, and often wash sweat with warm water. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of water to dilute the harmful components in the sweat. Prickly heat: It is a sweat hole occlusion caused by sweat in the skin. It is a red, corn-like papule that itches, scratches, crusts, hypertrophy and hyperpigmentation, and is found on the trunk and inner extremities of adults. It is mainly due to the impregnation of sweat, excessive degreasing of the stratum corneum and transitional multiplication of epidermal bacteria in a hot and muggy environment, resulting in the occlusion of sweat pores, obstruction of sweat excretion, rupture of sweat ducts and extravasation of sweat into the surrounding tissues. In summer, ventilation and cooling should be maintained to reduce sweating and keep the skin clean and dry to reduce the occurrence of heat rash. Sun rash: Excessive or too strong sun exposure in summer will most commonly cause redness, swelling and pain of the exposed skin and other manifestations of sunburn. Some patients show symptoms of polymorphic sun rash such as small papules, papules, edematous erythema with significant itching, mainly due to excessive exposure to medium-wave ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 290-320 nm in sunlight. Long-term excessive sun exposure will cause premature aging of the skin, making the skin rougher and rougher, producing deep wrinkles that cannot be recovered, causing dark spots, freckles and even skin cancer. For example, people who work outdoors for a long time, such as seafarers and farmers who work long hours, may even develop precancerous lesions such as solar keratosis or induce skin cancer. Preventive measures should include reducing strong sunlight exposure, wearing sunscreen, hats, shades and umbrellas when going out. When the weather is hot, minimize outdoor activities; Insect bite dermatitis: is another common summer dermatitis. It is mainly due to the mites on the bamboo mats in summer. To prevent this dermatitis, it is best to scald the mat with boiling water before use and put it under the sun after washing; if it is a popular “mahjong mat” on the market, it is not suitable for scalding with boiling water and can be washed thoroughly with water and then exposed to the sun. Experts remind, some people to the mat spray insecticide practice is not desirable, because the insecticide may cause skin absorption of chemicals and allergies. In addition, keep the humidity in the bedroom not too high, because the mite’s favorite growing environment is a hot and humid environment. Infectious skin disease: It is also common in summer. Due to high temperature and humidity, skin impregnation causes blockage of sweat pores, etc., all of which make it easy for pathogenic bacteria to invade the skin and multiply. These skin diseases can be transmitted by contact or self-infection, painful and itchy, severe fever and swollen lymph nodes. Prevention begins with keeping the skin clean, bathing regularly, cutting nails, and sprinkling prickly heat powder in the folds of the skin after showering to keep the skin fresh and dry. Pay attention to indoor ventilation and coolness. If you have dermatitis, don’t treat it indiscriminately. You can treat it with topical stove glycol lotion, herbal anti-itch tincture or oral medication under the guidance of your doctor. Do not use hot water to wash the affected area to stop itching. In order to avoid dilatation of subcutaneous blood vessels, increased redness and swelling, and increased exudation, which is detrimental to recovery.
