Our specialists were invited to participate in the 4th Summit Forum on Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pancreatic Gastric Diseases (Reprint)

On December 13, 2015, the 4th China Anti-Cancer Association Pancreatic Cancer Special Committee Minimally Invasive Group Summit Forum on Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Pancreatic and Gastric Diseases was successfully held in Hangzhou, China, which widely invited famous pancreatic and gastric experts in China to conduct various forms of academic exchanges. Professor Ni Quanxing, Professor Yu Xianjuan and Associate Professor Liu Chen of our department were invited to attend the conference. In the first meeting of the Minimally Invasive Diagnostic and Treatment Committee (MITPC) of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, Prof. Yu Xianjuan delivered a speech on behalf of the association, suggesting that minimally invasive surgery and multidisciplinary should be combined to treat pancreatic tumors and give full play to the advantages of minimally invasive technology in the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer. In the special report session, Prof. Yu Xian-F gave a wonderful report entitled “When Surgery Meets Oncology”, introducing the history and development of surgery and the arduous journey of surgical technology since its inception, carefully interpreting the different characteristics and potential connections between surgery and oncology. He also gave a detailed explanation of the characteristics and potential connections between surgery and oncology, and looked forward to the future research and development direction of pancreatic surgery. Professor Yu’s enthusiastic and vivid lecture was well received by the experts present. In the video sharing session of minimally invasive pancreatic surgery, Associate Professor Liu Chen introduced the development of laparoscopic spleen-preserving pancreatic tail surgery in our department, and pointed out that the safety of laparoscopic spleen-preserving pancreatic tail resection has long been recognized in the industry. Professor Liu pointed out that the safety of laparoscopic spleen-preserving pancreatic caudal resection has long been recognized in the industry. It also emphasizes that laparoscopy is less invasive and has faster recovery, which greatly reduces the patient’s time in the hospital. For benign lesions in the distal pancreas, laparoscopic spleen-preserving pancreatic caudal resection should be preferred if the borders are clear and the splenic artery is not significantly involved. Professor Liu then showed a video of laparoscopic spleen-preserving pancreatic caudal resection and explained the principles of handling important anatomical sites and the issues to be noted during surgery. In the subsequent multidisciplinary case discussion session, Prof. Quanxing Ni discussed several difficult pancreatic cancer cases with experts from various disciplines in China. Prof. Ni pointed out that the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer in China is characterized by uneven medical standards, low early diagnosis rate, high misdiagnosis rate, preference for surgical means, uneven and unstandardized treatment levels, and that the current multidisciplinary and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment (MDT) to further standardize the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer is still the best way to improve The best way to improve the quality of life and prolong the survival time of pancreatic cancer patients is still the MDT. As an excellent pancreatic center in China, the Pancreatic Surgery Department of Fudan University Pancreatic Cancer Institute/ Fudan University Cancer Hospital, adhering to the principle of “invite in, go out”, actively carries out multidisciplinary and domestic and international academic exchanges at the hospital level, actively and effectively promoting the standardized treatment of pancreatic cancer in China.
