Can scoliosis be operated on?

In the vast majority of cases scoliosis can be treated surgically. Scoliosis is a deformity of the spine with a lateral curvature, the pathogenesis of which is unclear.
Surgery is the main treatment for scoliosis. Although there are some risks associated with surgery, patients with neurological deficits or insufficient brace fixation should have their scoliosis corrected as soon as possible to prevent serious cardiopulmonary complications due to the further development of scoliosis.
Currently, the main surgical methods used in the treatment of scoliosis include anterior release surgery, posterior orthopedic implant fusion surgery, and posterior epiphyseal block surgery.
Individuals with different shoulder heights or other suspected symptoms of scoliosis should consult a doctor promptly for early correction.
