Cephalosporin or Levofloxacin for Prostatitis

Cephalosporin or levofloxacin for prostatitis cannot be generalized. Patients need to choose the right medication according to their own situation and under the guidance of their doctors. Prostatitis is mainly caused by pathogen infection, irregular sex life and other factors. Cephalosporin is a general term for cephalosporin antibacterial drugs, and common drugs include cefradine and cefuroxime, which are mainly used for infectious diseases caused by sensitive bacteria. Levofloxacin belongs to the quinolone class of antimicrobial drugs, also used for infectious diseases caused by sensitive bacteria. If the patient is allergic to cephalosporins, as well as penicillin anaphylaxis, should be contraindicated to take cephalosporins. If there is no obvious contraindication to levofloxacin, levofloxacin can be chosen. However, if the patient is allergic to quinolones, as well as lactating and pregnant women, levofloxacin needs to be contraindicated. The common adverse reactions of cephalosporins are nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, while those of levofloxacin are headache, dizziness, nausea and anemia.
