The number of years a person with Grade 3 hypertension can live cannot be generalized, and their survival depends mainly on blood pressure control and the presence of complications. Grade 3 hypertension refers to diastolic blood pressure higher than or equal to 110mmHg and systolic blood pressure higher than or equal to 180mmHg, which belongs to very high risk status. If the blood pressure of hypertension level 3 is poorly controlled, it is very easy to cause acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction, malignant arrhythmia, cerebral hernia, etc., and it is easy to die in a short period of time. If patients with grade 3 hypertension are combined with diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, etc., and do not actively control blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipids, it will also increase the risk of inducing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, thus shortening the survival period, but with some individual differences. However, if patients follow medical advice to take antihypertensive drugs and pay attention to daily living habits so that their blood pressure is well controlled, the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases will be reduced, thus improving the quality of life of the patients, without much impact on life expectancy. Therefore, the survival of people with tertiary hypertension needs to be considered on a case-by-case basis, and active control of blood pressure is recommended.
