How to check for ovarian tumor markers

Ovarian tumor markers require a blood test.
Tumor markers generally refer to substances present in malignant tumor cells, produced by malignant tumor cells, or produced by the host’s stimulus response to the tumor, and have the role of early screening of tumors or monitoring tumor recurrence.
There are many clinical tumor markers, and different solid tumors have their own sensitive tumor markers, among which the marker for gynecological tumors, such as ovarian cancer, is CA125, and generally, gynecological tumor markers are also checked for CA153, CA199, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), AFP, etc. The tumor markers are measured by blood tests, which are done by blood chemistries.
Tumor markers are blood tests, some of them can be done without fasting, no obvious time limit, some of them may need fasting, just follow the doctor’s instructions for blood sampling, and it is generally recommended to draw blood in the morning.
Elevated tumor marker does not necessarily mean that you have a certain tumor, part of the normal tissue or benign non-tumor diseases such as inflammation, polyps, ulcers, etc., may also cause increased tumor markers, should be combined with imaging, pathological biopsy and other tests to clarify.
If you find elevated tumor markers, you should consult a doctor in time to have your condition evaluated by a professional physician.
