Early symptoms and manifestations of lung cancer are usually not obvious and there is no shoulder tingling, but progressive lung cancer, especially lung cancer growing in the apical region of the lung, is prone to compress brachial plexus nerve or ribs in upper chest and develop shoulder tingling. Common symptoms of lung cancer include cough, hemoptysis, chest pain, etc. However, symptoms of lung cancer in apical region may include tingling in shoulder, numbness in arm, muscle atrophy in upper limbs, sunken eyeballs, narrowing of eye fissures, drooping of upper eyelids, etc., because tumors in apical region of lungs often invade or compress brachial plexus nerves, sympathetic nerves, ribs in upper thorax, and subclavian blood vessels, etc., which may cause the above mentioned symptoms. Feeling tingling in the shoulder which cannot be relieved by resting is recommended to seek prompt medical attention to find out the cause and active treatment.
