Ways to eliminate tinnitus

For tinnitus, some causes are clear and can be treated; however, some causes cannot be eliminated; and there is also idiopathic tinnitus, the cause of which is unknown. Therefore, the treatment is different for different cases, and it is uncertain whether it can be eliminated. Common causes of tinnitus, such as secretory otitis media, Meniere’s disease, etc., can be targeted to take medication, surgical treatment. If the cause is unknown or untreatable, symptomatic treatment is needed to alleviate the symptoms. 1. Treatment of etiology (1) Secretory otitis media: common symptoms include earache, tinnitus and hearing loss. Macrolide antibiotics such as roxithromycin and erythromycin, or cephalosporins such as ceftriaxone and cefuroxime can be applied. If the inflammatory infection is more serious, glucocorticosteroids, such as dexamethasone and prednisone, should be applied as prescribed by the doctor. For patients with recurrent or prolonged disease, surgical treatment should be considered, such as tympanotomy with tubing, pharyngeal tube balloon dilatation, and so on. (2) Ménière’s disease: Typical symptoms include dizziness, tinnitus, and a feeling of fullness in the ears. Diuretics such as amphotericin and dihydroclonidine, as well as vasodilators such as betahistine and flunarizine, and anticholinergics such as scopolamine and scopolamine need to be applied. If the symptoms are serious, surgical treatments such as lymphatic sac surgery and semicircular canal obstruction should be considered. 2. Symptomatic treatment: the treatment of tinnitus symptoms, including drug therapy (mainly including anti-anxiety, antidepressant; tinnitus inhibiting drug lidocaine, etc.), masking therapy, psychotherapy, electrical stimulation therapy, habitual wear therapy. Tinnitus patients should consult a doctor in time to identify the specific cause, and then follow the doctor’s instructions to choose standardized medication and treatment.
