How to prevent and treat varicose veins

Varicose veins can be prevented by adopting good living habits and dressing, and after the onset of varicose veins, they can be treated by using medicines, surgery and other methods.
1. Prevention: Develop good living habits, avoid standing or sitting for a long time, pay attention to students, office and other sedentary people to get up and move around every once in a while. Appropriate leg and foot massage can be carried out to promote blood circulation.
Choose well-fitting clothes and comfortable shoes, and avoid wearing tight clothes and high-heeled shoes for a long time. Elevate the lower limbs when resting or sleeping to help venous return. If you need to stand for a long time, use compression stockings.
2. Treatment: Varicose veins cause thrombosis or phlebitis, symptomatic treatment can be given to reduce swelling and analgesic drugs, such as ibuprofen and diosmet tablets; anti-inflammatory antibiotics such as cefixime and azithromycin can be given to treat varicose veins; or streptokinase, urokinase and other fibrinolytic drugs can be used to improve the local blood circulation and reduce the coagulability and viscosity of the blood.
In severe cases, surgical treatment can be chosen depending on the location of varicose veins. For example, varicose veins of the lower limbs can be treated with high saphenous vein ligation plus varicose vein stripping; varicose veins of the spermatic cord can be treated with laparoscopic spermatic vein ligation; and varicose veins of the esophagus at the base of the stomach can be treated with splenic-renal vein shunt.
Good care should be taken in daily life for prevention. If you already have the disease, it is recommended to choose the appropriate method of treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor. The above medicines should be used according to the doctor’s prescription.
