How to recognize if you have syphilis

To determine whether you have syphilis, you need to go to a regular hospital and see a professional doctor for differential diagnosis. Doctors will confirm the diagnosis from the patient’s symptoms, medical history, physical examination and relevant laboratory reports.
1. Symptoms:
(1) Patients with syphilis may develop skin and mucous membrane damage, such as hard chancre, syphilitic baldness, mucous membrane spots and flat warts;
(2) Patients may also have fever, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches or swollen joints, loss of vision, and blurred vision;
(3) Patients may also have neurologic damage, which may manifest as vomiting, headaches, lethargy, and unresponsiveness.
2. Medical history: The doctor will ask the patient if he/she has a history of non-marital sexual contact, history of blood transfusion, and history of traveling.
3. Physical examination: The doctor will conduct a physical examination of the patient and observe whether the patient has any suspicious rashes or ulcers.
4. Laboratory tests: The doctor will give the patient a complete syphilis serology test to help clarify the diagnosis.
If you are worried about syphilis, it is recommended that you consult a doctor in a timely manner to complete the relevant examinations so as to avoid delaying your condition. If you are sick, you should strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for symptomatic treatment to avoid deterioration of the condition, regular review, monitoring the effect of treatment, but also do a good job of personal hygiene care and isolation, to prevent the spread of the disease.
