AABR stands for Automatic Auditory Brainstem Evoked Potential Screening. AABR is often used to screen children for hearing abnormalities. This test can be done on newborns about 1-3 days after birth. The AABR is relatively harmless to the child, and the electrodes can be placed on the child’s head to observe the waveform and amplitude of the brain waves through sound stimulation. The child’s hearing can be determined by observing the waveform and amplitude of the brain waves through sound stimulation. If there is an abnormality, the child can be treated in a timely manner to prevent serious consequences such as mute.
