What is intrahepatic cystic hypodense lesions?

Cystic low density lesions seen in the liver may be due to liver cysts, liver abscesses or liver parasites. 1. Liver cysts: Liver cysts are mostly congenital, and on imaging, they mostly appear as rounded low-density areas within the liver, which are cystic in nature. Its edge is sharp and the border is mostly clear. 2. Liver abscess: Liver abscess can be seen as rounded or rounded low-density foci in the liver, with a pus cavity in the center. Some of the foci may show thick-walled cystic foci, sometimes with fluid planes. 3. Liver parasitic diseases: Liver parasitic diseases such as hepatic echinococcosis can be visualized as low-density cystic foci of different sizes, solitary or multiple. They are well demarcated and have smooth margins. When cystic, low-density lesions are seen in the liver, further examination is recommended to clarify the diagnosis and standardize treatment.
