Wooden splinter poked into the nail can take different treatment measures according to the depth of penetration, usually including general treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment and other methods.
1. Shallow penetration: First of all, prepare a pair of clean and sterile metal tweezers, hold the end of the splinter to remove the splinter, and clean the affected area with iodine swabs. If bleeding occurs, apply light pressure to the affected area for 2-3 minutes to stop the bleeding, and then disinfect the wound daily until it heals.
2. Deeper penetration: If the splinter is deeper into the wound, you should go to the hospital for wound treatment, so as to avoid removing the splinter by yourself, which will leave a small splinter in the wound and affect the healing. After the splinter is removed and sterilized, tetanus vaccine should be administered as prescribed by the doctor to avoid tetanus infection. If the wound becomes infected, oral antibiotics, such as cephalosporin, may be prescribed.
Wooden splinters poked into the finger should be immediately sought medical treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
