Does blepharospasm work with glutamine?

Glutamine has no therapeutic effect on blepharospasm. Blepharospasm is the involuntary tugging and throbbing of the eyelids, which is mainly characterized by involuntary eye closure and increased blinking frequency. Its etiology is varied and can be seen in reflex transient eyes caused by irritating lesions on the ocular surface, blepharospasm caused by mental factors, idiopathic blepharospasm and so on. For ocular lesions, ophthalmology specialist treatment; for mental factors, mostly seen in patients with Tourette’s syndrome, in addition to psychotherapeutic drugs, can be combined with haloperidol and other drugs symptomatic treatment; for idiopathic, mainly symptomatic treatment, such as oral clonazepam, botulinum toxin injections, and so on. Phytoneurological disorders generally do not lead to blepharospasm symptoms. Glutamine is a mesencephalic function-regulating drug, which has the effect of regulating endocrine balance disorders and phytoneurotic dysfunction, so it is not useful for blepharospasm. Patients with blepharospasm are advised to seek timely medical treatment and standardize treatment under the guidance of a physician, and not to blindly self-medicate.
