The severity of multiple cysts of the liver depends on the individual case. Most asymptomatic multiple cysts of the liver are not serious. A small percentage of symptomatic cysts are more serious. 1. Asymptomatic polycystic cysts: Most patients with liver polycystic cysts have no clinical manifestations. There are also usually no signs or symptoms of jaundice, liver failure or portal hypertension. Symptomatic multilocular cysts: a small number of patients have postprandial abdominal distension and even shortness of breath due to the large size of liver cysts. Surgery will only be performed for patients with multiple cysts with serious symptoms and complications, and the general surgical method is partial hepatectomy plus wide open window surgery for liver cysts.
