Shoulder pain that makes it difficult to lift the arm is often caused by impingement syndrome or rotator cuff tear of the shoulder joint, and should be diagnosed by physical examination, X-ray and MRI of the shoulder joint. If the diagnosis of rotator cuff tear or impingement syndrome is confirmed, the patient should undergo conservative treatment, such as local physical therapy, microwave physiotherapy or far-infrared physiotherapy, oral pain medication such as meloxicam, celecoxib, and traditional Chinese medicine such as Daxuodan. If there is a fixed pressure point, local closure treatment can be performed to relieve pain. If conservative treatment is ineffective or if symptoms continue to worsen, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery is considered.
