A secretory phase response of the diagnostic endometrium indicates that there is still progesterone in the body, which may be a normal response, or there may be luteal atrophy insufficiency. The endometrium will change with the hormone levels in the body, there will be a proliferative phase, ovulation, secretory phase and menstrual phase. Women enter the proliferative phase after menstrual cleansing, the corpus luteum is formed after ovulation and secretes progesterone, and the endometrium transforms from the proliferative phase to the secretory phase under the stimulation of progesterone, which is the secretory phase of the endometrium, and with the shrinkage of the corpus luteum, the endometrium falls off and enters the menstrual phase. Therefore, diagnosis and curettage of the endometrium in the secretory phase is a normal phenomenon, as part of the menstrual cycle, do not need to give treatment. However, if the patient undergoes endometrial scraping because of abnormal vaginal bleeding and the test result is a secretory phase reaction, it means that there may be atrophy of the corpus luteum. Therefore, the cause of a secretory phase reaction to an endometrial scraping should be determined in the context of the patient’s specific presentations.
