Can chronic uveitis cataracts be cured?

Chronic uveitis is more difficult to cure and is prone to recurrence. Cataracts can be treated with surgery to improve vision.
Chronic uveitis is often associated with autoimmune response. Even if the inflammation is completely controlled by medication, chronic uveitis may recur when the patient experiences low immunity caused by staying up all night, fatigue, or drinking alcohol. Patients with chronic uveitis may also develop complications such as cataract and secondary glaucoma, which are more difficult to cure.
Patients with chronic uveitis who develop cataracts can be treated with surgery, such as cataract ultrasonography combined with IOL implantation, to improve their vision.
It is recommended that patients with chronic uveitis consult a doctor to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions.
