It is possible for bugs to enter the ear. There are many clinical examples of such cases, especially when the patient is sleeping or riding in the cool of summer when bugs often fly into the ear, commonly cockroaches, ants, small flying insects, mosquitoes, etc. After entering the ear the patient will feel discomfort in the ear, crawling sensation in the ear canal, blockage, pain, and even bleeding leading to hearing loss and other clinical manifestations. Clinically, it is recommended that patients should go to an ENT clinic as soon as possible for treatment by a physician for this condition. If the worm is superficially located, the doctor can remove the worm directly under the guidance of an ear endoscope. If the worm is deeper, it is best to use antibiotic drops to suffocate the worm and then use an aspirator to suck it out, and pay attention to any damage to the eardrum of the ear canal afterwards. Since the worms carry viruses or bacteria, anti-inflammatory treatment is usually recommended afterwards to prevent and control the infection and to review it regularly.
