Most strawberry hemangiomas are self-healing. Strawberry hemangiomas are usually found at birth or within a short time after birth, but usually go through a period of rapid growth, between 3 and 9 months after birth, and some even grow for about a year and a half. Generally speaking, hemangiomas begin to recede after one year of age, about 10% per year, so that 90% of patients will disappear around the age of 10, with only local pigmentation, scarring and skin color changes remaining. Treatment is necessary to speed up the time and speed of natural regression.
