If the abscess is small and there is no obvious redness or swelling, there is no need to worry too much, you can apply topical medications such as iodophor or Bactrim locally, and take oral cephalosporin antibiotics for anti-infection treatment. If the abscess is considered to be caused by subcutaneous infection, the abscess will generally be incised and cleared under local anesthesia to draw out the pus, and then regular medication changes will be performed at a later stage, and if necessary, fluid infusion will be required for treatment. However, if the abscess is considered to be related to the parotid gland, further examination such as CT is required and better debridement, or even partial removal of the parotid gland may be carried out for radical treatment, and no spicy food or alcohol should be consumed during the treatment period.
