How to Tell the Difference Between Leaking Urine and Amniotic Fluid in Late Pregnancy

In late pregnancy, you can distinguish whether it is amniotic fluid or leakage of urine from the color, smell, outflow site, and PH test paper. 1. Color: amniotic fluid is usually colorless and transparent liquid; urine is usually light yellow. 2. Odor: amniotic fluid is generally odorless; urine has a strong ammonia odor. 3. Outflow site: amniotic fluid flows out through the vagina, urine flows out through the urethra, and urine will be controlled and can be stopped in time, whereas amniotic fluid will not, and will always flow out. 4. PH test paper: urine is acidic, PH test paper color change is not obvious; amniotic fluid is alkaline, PH test paper color will become blue. There are many differences between leakage of urine and leakage of amniotic fluid, if you can’t judge effectively, you should consult a doctor in time.
