Newborns are able to produce surface antibodies to hepatitis B in about one month after receiving the hepatitis B vaccine. Hepatitis B is a chronic infectious disease that seriously threatens the health of our people and can cause hepatitis, liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and even liver cancer. Our country is a major hepatitis B country, and most people are infected with hepatitis B as a result of mother-to-child transmission at birth. In order to reduce the incidence of hepatitis B, all newborns are vaccinated with the hepatitis B vaccine free of charge, which produces effective hepatitis B surface antibodies to protect against hepatitis B virus infection. The higher the concentration of hepatitis B surface antibodies, the stronger the resistance to hepatitis B. Newborns need three injections of the hepatitis B virus in six months. After the three injections, the concentration of hepatitis B surface antibodies will increase significantly when they are rechecked every other month, which means that they have good immunity to the hepatitis B virus.
