Metformin extended-release tablets and gliclazide extended-release tablets, can you take two tablets in the morning and two in the evening?

It is generally not recommended to take two Metformin Extended-Release Tablets and two Gliclazide Extended-Release Tablets in the morning and two in the evening, which is not consistent with the frequency and timing of dosing.
Depending on the specifics of glycemic control, metformin extended-release tablets may be taken 1 or 2 times per day, with 1 tablet usually recommended with or after dinner. Only 1 dose of gliclazide before breakfast is recommended, primarily because gliclazide extended-release tablets maintain plasma concentrations of the drug in the body for a long period of time, and once a day is sufficient for sustained action, with a maximum daily dose of no more than 4 tablets for both.
Metformin is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, heart failure, severe infections, hypotension, and hypoxia. Gliclazide is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, hypersensitivity to sulfonamides or sulfonylureas, pregnant and lactating women and children.
Diabetic patients should use the drug under medical supervision.
