People who have an enlarged heart and reduced ejection fraction but are asymptomatic are patients with asymptomatic heart failure.
Heart failure is a syndrome in which the heart pumps abnormally under the action of multiple pathogenic factors, leading to a decrease in cardiac output and thus failing to meet the metabolic needs of the body’s tissues and cells. It is often characterized by symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, and dyspnea.
Asymptomatic heart failure is a type of chronic heart failure in which the etiology of cardiac insufficiency and a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of less than 50% are present, but the symptoms of heart failure are not manifested. As the disease progresses, patients will gradually develop symptoms, so this part of the patient also needs to be treated under the guidance of a doctor.
The treatment of asymptomatic heart failure is mainly drug therapy, patients need to follow the doctor’s instructions to take spironolactone, valsartan, metoprolol, furosemide and other drugs for treatment, daily life need to quit smoking and alcohol, low-salt and low-fat diet, regular and moderate exercise.
