What is neonatal constipation?

First of all, we need to clarify a concept, what is a newborn baby? It is a child born within 28 days, in this cycle of constipation, we call the newborn constipation. Some children, especially those who are breastfed, may have several or even a dozen bowel movements a day, which are very frequent and dilute, while some children only have a bowel movement once a day or two, and their stools are more formed, and some are also dry. Is this a case of constipation? First of all, we look at the child’s food, health, growth and development, as well as whether the child is crying and whether the process of discharge is laborious. Children with constipation will often see dry stools, more difficult to pass, and will make a sound when defecating, at the same time the child will be accompanied by abdominal distension, when touching the child’s abdomen will cry and hide, some children because the stool is too dry and hard will lead to anal bleeding and other conditions, this belongs to the newborn constipation. This is a very dangerous sign that the child may have congenital anal atresia or congenital megacolon and other congenital diseases, and should seek medical attention in time.
