Can baby cataracts be cured?

Baby cataracts can be cured with early detection and timely treatment. Congenital cataract is a common eye disease in children. It is a clouding of the lens that occurs at birth or after birth, within the first year, and can be familial or disseminated, with or without other eye abnormalities, or hereditary and systemic diseases. Those with little effect on vision can usually be observed regularly without treatment. For congenital cataracts that clearly affect vision, it is generally believed that early surgery should be performed, and the earlier the surgery, the greater the chance of obtaining good vision. After cataract removal, for aphakic eyes, refractive correction, including glasses or IOL implantation, as well as vision training, should be carried out to restore vision.
