Numerous studies and our clinical practice have confirmed that how a person presents with symptoms such as constipation, decreased sense of smell, depression or fast-acting eye sleep behavior disorder, tend to be more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease than the general population. Our Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders research team has been conducting follow-up studies on this for many years, and the findings were published in Archvies of Neurology, a leading international journal specializing in neurology. We are currently conducting further studies in the Chinese population to help diagnose and treat Parkinson’s disease patients with these symptoms.
