If the anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody, TPOAb, is high, suggesting chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, pregnant women without hyperthyroidism and other thyroid diseases whose TPOAb is high will have no effect if thyroid function is monitored normally during pregnancy; if hypothyroidism occurs during pregnancy, it will easily affect the neurological growth and development of the fetus and can be treated with oral eugenol. There are no specific medications for TPOAb positivity. For non-pregnant patients with Hashimoto’s disease, i.e. chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, a low iodine diet is recommended.
