How to use the negative ultrasound probe

A vaginal ultrasound probe is used by applying a small amount of coupling agent to the end of the probe, then applying a sterilized latex sleeve and inserting it into the vagina. A vaginal ultrasound, also known as an intracavernosal ultrasound, is performed through the vagina. The probe of the intracavernous ultrasound is slender, about 2cm in diameter, cylindrical with a rounded end. To perform the examination, the patient is made to lie flat on the examination bed in the lithotomy position. The probe is then removed and a medical coupling agent is applied. Put a latex sleeve on the outside of the probe, check whether the latex sleeve is intact, and then slowly insert it into the vagina, and do not force it roughly. An image of the uterus is displayed when the probe is about 10 cm into the vagina. Multiple sections are taken to sweep the uterus and observe the lesions of the uterus. After observing the uterine lesions, the adnexa and the entire pelvis are examined bilaterally. After the examination, the probe is slowly withdrawn from the vagina, and the latex cover is checked to see if it is intact, removed and placed in a special garbage can for medical waste. Then use sterilized medical gauze to wipe the probe clean. The vaginal ultrasound probe should be maintained and cleaned regularly, as well as sterilized.
