There is fluid in the thoracic spine, i.e., pleural effusion. Long-term pleural effusion leads to chronic effusion, which then continues to develop with a series of adverse consequences, such as dyspnea, interfering with sleep as well as quality of life. 1. Dyspnea. The high incidence of dyspnea is mainly due to the extrusion of the fluid on the lung tissues, resulting in decreased respiratory function, which leads to hypoxia and then poor breathing. It also causes pressure on the heart and lungs, and if the alveoli rupture and the gases are released into the thoracic cavity, it will cause extrusion of the thoracic cavity and lungs, which leads to poor breathing. 2. Affecting sleep. Patients with pleural effusion will feel pain on one side of the chest, cough more than one side, and the amount of sputum will be reduced. If the amount of effusion is too large, it will lead to the inability to lie down at night, resulting in decreased quality of sleep, and the next day, when they get up, their mental state will be reduced, and their body will be weakened. 3. Affecting the quality of life. Many patients are in serious condition and need to be bedridden, unable to walk normally, their quality of life will be reduced, their mood will deteriorate, and they will become grumpy. When pleural effusion is serious, it can be life-threatening. Therefore, once the effusion is detected, scientific and regular treatment should be carried out immediately under the guidance of doctors.
