How chorea is treated

The treatment of any disease consists of three aspects, one is the treatment of the cause, the second is the treatment of symptoms, and the third is the treatment of rehabilitation, and the same is true for the treatment of patients with chorea. The first is the treatment of the cause of the disease, for example, patients with chorea are caused by rheumatic fever infection, so they can be treated for rheumatic fever infection, and antibiotics can be used for treatment; patients with hepatomegaly are caused by hereditary abnormalities in copper metabolism, so on the one hand, they can adopt a low-copper diet and eat less shells, chocolate, coffee beans, etc.; on the other hand, they can promote the excretion of copper and prevent copper absorption. Block the absorption of copper and use some chelating agents; the third aspect is for the chorea caused by drug poisoning and infection, which can also be treated for the cause, and the prognosis of these patients is often better. The second is symptomatic treatment for the symptoms of chorea itself, which can be treated with dopamine receptor agonists or dopamine depleting agents and some drugs that increase γ-aminobutyric acid. The third is some effective rehabilitation therapy for patients with chorea.
