Do children change their big teeth?

The big teeth, also known as molar teeth, are not usually replaced before the age of 9, and the molar teeth will be replaced around the age of 9 to 12 years old.
If you are currently a toddler, up to the age of 6-8 years old, you will usually replace your first permanent tooth, the mesial incisor, and then start to grow your lateral incisors and replace the other two lateral incisors between the ages of 8-9 years old, and you will not usually replace your molar teeth at this stage.
The replacement of the cuspids, first and second molar teeth begins around the age of 10 to 12 years. The second molar erupts again around the age of 12 to 13.
Children’s teeth are replaced in a regular pattern and in a sequential order. If you are concerned that your child’s teeth are being replaced in an irregular order, or that the process of tooth replacement is affecting the development of your child’s teeth, it is recommended that you visit your doctor and have a checkup to see how your child’s teeth are developing.
