What’s wrong with coughing and eye pain?

Eye pain when coughing is usually caused by the following reasons: 1, due to sinusitis, the sinuses are distributed around the orbit, such as maxillary sinus below the orbit, frontal sinus above the orbit, and pterygoid sinus and sieve sinus in the inner part of the orbit. When inflammation occurs in the above sinuses, the pain is aggravated when coughing because of the vibration of the skull, thus triggering orbital and eye pain.2. Due to infection in the orbit, such as orbital cellulitis, the pain is not particularly obvious in the early stage of inflammation, but the vibration of coughing and the contraction of the muscles in the skin of the eyelid. The elevated intraorbital pressure causes irritation of the intraorbital tissues, leading to increased pain.3. Due to iridocyclitis, patients with iridocyclitis experience significant eye pressure and pain, and when coughing there is a tightening of the eyelids, which causes a slight squeeze on the eyeball leading to eye pain.
