What is the cause of crouching dyspnea

Squatting dyspnea may be related to physiologic causes such as compression of the chest cavity, or to respiratory disorders, circulatory disorders, and neuropsychiatric disorders.

1. Physiological causes. When a person squats, the chest cavity may be compressed, leading to dyspnea; it may also be related to psychological factors such as tension and anxiety.

2. Pathologic causes

(1) Respiratory diseases. When a person suffers from laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, pleural effusion, diaphragmatic paralysis and other respiratory diseases, it may cause squatting dyspnea.

(2) Circulatory system diseases. When a person suffers from pulmonary embolism, heart failure and other diseases, it may cause squatting dyspnea.

(3) Neuropsychiatric diseases. When a person suffers from encephalitis, meningitis, traumatic brain injury, hysteria and other diseases, it can cause squatting dyspnea.

In addition, patients with severe anemia can also cause squatting dyspnea. When the symptoms of squatting dyspnea cannot be relieved for a long time, the person should seek medical treatment in time.
