The treatment approach of insomnia includes two parts: behavioral therapy and medication, and the treatment focuses on behavioral therapy. 1.Behavior therapy: psychological counseling to eliminate the concern and fear of insomnia symptoms, correct understanding of insomnia, develop good sleep habits, prevent and correct bad sleep behaviors and concepts, such as choosing a suitable environment for sleeping, reducing the time in bed, getting up immediately when you can’t sleep, developing the habit of getting up at the same time every day no matter what time you sleep at night, choosing a suitable pillow, relaxing your body by soaking your feet before going to bed, etc. It will also play a supporting role. In addition, avoid being too full or hungry before going to bed, and reduce mood swings. 2.Medication: If behavioral treatment fails, medication can be used, and follow the principle of individualized and on-demand medication, mainly low-dose, intermittent, short-term medication, as prescribed by the doctor. Commonly used drugs are benzodiazepines (diazepam, eszopiclone, etc.) and non-benzodiazepines (such as pyrazolopyrimidines, GABA agonists and their reuptake inhibitors, etc.) and other drugs that help sleep (such as depressants), but attention should be paid to drug dependence and rebound of symptoms when the drug is stopped. Therefore, the treatment of insomnia includes two main aspects, and when the effect of medication is not very obvious, effective behavioral therapy is also needed to assist.
