It is sweet, sour and cold in nature, and belongs to the kidney and liver meridians, with the effect of nourishing the liver and kidney, cooling blood and stopping bleeding. It can be clinically used in the treatment of Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, loosening of the teeth, premature whitening of the beard and hair, vertigo and tinnitus, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, Yin deficiency and blood heat, vomiting blood, epistaxis, urinating blood, blood dysentery, and discharging blood from a leakage of the menstrual cycle (menstruation that is too heavy or more than one drip), and so on.
