The manifestations of gout vary according to the individual and the course of the disease, so there is no such thing as seven signs of gout. Gout can be categorized into asymptomatic, acute and chronic stages according to the course of gout, 1. Asymptomatic stage: some gout patients may show fluctuating or persistent hyperuricemia, which may last for several years before obvious gout symptoms appear. There are also some patients with high uric acid who remain asymptomatic for life. 2. Acute phase: Gout often starts suddenly late at night or early in the morning, manifesting as severe joint pain, and the affected joints may become red, swollen, feverish, painful, and activity-restricted within a few hours. 3. Chronic phase: common in patients with gout without standardized treatment, manifested by persistent swelling and pain in the affected joints, gout stones deposited in the joints can cause surface nodules and joint bone destruction. Gout patients with persistent elevation of blood uric acid and the above symptoms, should go to the hospital in a timely manner, generally after treatment of gout patients with a better prognosis.
